Mr. Ramesh Sangha, Member of Parliament for Brampton Centre organized a Town Hall Consultation in his constituency office on September 1, 2016. The topics of discussion were regarding Seniors Issues, Affordable Housing, Employment Insurance, and Youth Unemployment.
The meeting was adjourned with a warm welcome from MP Sangha followed by a presentation surrounding the emerging issues in regards to the topics mentioned above. MP Sangha emphasized the government’s commitment to the promises made prior to the election. MP Sangha highlighted the government’s considerations regarding changes in laws, rules, and regulations to address the problems facing the public. MP Sangha explained that his role as a member of the HUMA (Human Resource and Skill Development) Committee allowed him to share the views of many stakeholders and expert witnesses on these subjects.
The active participation from the attendees resulted in a free flow of ideas and suggestions to resolve the concerns affecting seniors and youth. Specific requests included; more retirement homes and educational institutions in Brampton, further support from the government, and an increase in educational funding.
MP Sangha concluded the meeting with many thanks for the participants, volunteers and staff. He also implied that suggestions and concerns will be addressed to their respective ministries.
